Manufactured in Europe to OE specifications, Slinky Glide cables are designed for long-lasting performance. The inner cable is made from stainless steel for maximum strength, corrosion resistance, and durability. All inner cables are covered with tough polyimide (PI) sleeve to reduce wear and protect against the elements. Cables are also pre-lubricated with a freeze-resistant compound that repels dust and debris, keeping them clean and smooth-operating. Speedo cables feature a special dual-layer outer coating to help reduce vibration and ensure accurate readings.
Polyimide (PI) lining is used in Slinky Glide cables for its outstanding performance in demanding conditions. This high-tech material offers excellent resistance to extreme temperatures, making it ideal for use near engines or exhaust components. It also provides superior protection against chemicals, oils, and road contaminants, helping to prevent internal corrosion. The PI lining creates a smooth, low-friction surface inside the cable, allowing for free movement of the stainless steel core while significantly reducing wear. Its strong mechanical structure maintains shape and performance over time, while its moisture-resistant properties guard against water ingress and dirt buildup. Despite its durability, polyimide remains lightweight, adding strength without unnecessary bulk.
